GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Friends Friday Film Series, now 68 years old, is a staple of the Greenwich Library. For the 2015-16 season the series will once again roll out a slate of award-winning new releases, classics and international films with wide-ranging appeal.

From award-winners like "Boyhood" and "Still Alice" to Hollywood classics like "The Pajama Game" and "Three Godfathers," to "Good Hair," the Chris Rock documentary selected as one of the Greenwich Reads Together programs centering around the book "Americanah," there will be films to interest every point of view.

The season kicks off on Friday, Sept. 11, with "The One Hundred Foot Journey" and will run through June 24 with "Letter from an Unknown Woman."

New this year, Friends Friday Films and the Flinn Gallery have teamed up to offer an art ‘Double Feature.' Gallery hours will be extended until 8 p.m. before four Friday films related to the concurrent gallery exhibit. Grab an early dinner on the Avenue then stop by the Gallery between 6 and 8 p.m. to tour the current show before the film screening.

The schedule includes the following:

  • Friday, Nov. 13: Woman in Gold (2015); Flinn Exhibit: "Beyond Boundaries"
  • Friday, Dec. 18: 3 Godfathers (1948); Flinn Exhibit: "Great American Landscapes"
  • Friday, March 4: Inside Out (2015); Flinn Exhibit: "More, More, More"
  • Friday, April 8: Wild (2014); Flinn Exhibit: “Field to Studio: Wildlife Art”

This series is made possible by contributions to the Friends of Greenwich Library. Show time is 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:40 p.m.
