Former ESPN Boss Bodenheimer To Tell Sports Tales At Greenwich Library

Former ESPN executive George Bodenheimer will be interviewed by veteran ESPN anchor Bob Ley at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26 in the Greenwich Library's Cole Auditorium. 

Bodenheimer's memoir "Every Town is a Sports Town: Business Leadership at ESPN, from the Mailroom to the Boardroom," describes how the network changed sports broadcasting to become the worldwide leader in sports.

The interview will be conducted by Ley, ESPN’s longest-serving commentator, who joined the network as a SportsCenter anchor on its third day of operation in 1979. 

Bodenheimer was the company's longest-tenured president, operating the organization from 1998-2011 before taking over the position of executive chairman, ESPN Inc., providing strategic direction for ESPN’s global business.

His book is co-authored with bestselling author Donald Phillips and is meant for both sports fans and business readers. 

The free event will have books available for signing and purchase. 

Seating in the Cole Auditorium is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
