DARIEN, Conn. -- Emmy Award-winning news anchor Ernie Anastos will be the keynote speaker at a Darien breakfast to benefit the New Covenant House in Stamford.
Anastos will speak at the 11th annual Celebrity Breakfast Fundraiser hosted by Catholic Charities of Fairfield County. It will be held Thursday, April 16, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Woodway Country Club at 540 Hoyt St., Darien.
Anastos, news anchor for the FOX flagship station in New York, is also the creator and anchor of the television program “Positively Ernie” and a celebrated author.
All proceeds from the breakfast event will benefit the New Covenant House, which is Stamford's only soup kitchen.
New Covenant House has been serving Lower Fairfield County since 1978. Last year, it provided more than 700,000 meals to the less fortunate. It offers a soup kitchen, a food pantry, children’s after school meals and breakfast-to-go programs.
Individual tickets for the event are $200 per person or $2,000 for a table of 10.
