End-Of-Life Care Talk Offered At Greenwich's River House

GREENWICH, Conn. -- An in-depth look at some issues faced while providing end-of-life care will be presented Tuesday at River House, 125 River Road Extension, Cos Cob.

The event, from 7-9 p.m., will be led by Daniel G. O’Hare, PhD, a speaker and consultant ethicist who specializes in the topic.

“How Advanced is Your Directive?” will focus on the history and potential benefits of an advanced directive or a written statement detailing a person’s wishes regarding medical treatment.

Attendees, who will be provided wine and cheese along with the information, will learn how to best maintain and honor loved ones even when they are unable to make decisions about their own care, give care providers with a specific plan of action and ensure health care providers follow a specific plan of care.

This presentation is geared toward caregivers, health care professionals and members of the community.
