GREENWICH, Conn. -- The first annual “Emsway” Boating Safety Day will be from 1:30-4 p.m., Sunday, at the Innis Arden Cottage, Greenwich Point Park in Old Greenwich.
The event is sponsored by the Town of Greenwich Shellfish Commission and the Bruce Museum First Sunday Science program.
This fun, family event focuses on both youth and parent safe-boater education, according to a press release. The program features an instructional talk and demonstration given by the Town of Greenwich Marine Police, who will cover boat operation, towing and how to be equipped for and act in an emergency. Ask and have your questions answered by the experts.
Refreshments include a raw bar of local shellfish.
The Bruce Museum Seaside Center will be open for visitors to view its marine touch tank.
All ages are welcome, but organizers are especially encouraging teens and pre-teens to learn the checkpoints for safe boating, according to a press release..
