Joining those two bands will be O.A.R. as general admission ticket sales begin March 2.

Earth, Wind & Fire are six-time Grammy winners as their fusion of funk, jazz, soul, R&B and rock propelled them to the top of the charts in the 1970s. They will bring that sound to the all-day Greenwich Town Party on May 23. It will be held at the Roger Sherman Baldwin Park from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Held annually on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, the GTP brings multiple generations of residents together to celebrate town pride and the spirit of giving through live music, local food favorites, and fun family activities.

“Thanks to the continuous contributions and participation by so many community members, charitable organizations, and businesses, the GTP has become the most popular ticket in town,” said organizer Scot Weicker. “We’re thrilled for this year’s lineup of fantastic bands whose songs will be sure to get everyone on their feet singing and dancing.”

Earth, Wind & Fire have been credited with influencing today’s hottest artists, including Pharrell Williams, will.i.am, and Usher. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band has sold over 100 million albums, making it one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time. Their most popular songs include “September,” “Let’s Groove,” and two Grammy Hall of Fame-inducted songs, “That’s the Way of the World” and “Shining Star.” The band’s first album in eight years, “Now, Then & Forever,” was released in September 2013.

Fixtures on classic rock and Top 40 stations the Doobie Brothers have won four Grammys in their career.

Their popular hits include “Black Water,” “What a Fool Believes,” “Listen to the Music,” and “Takin’ it to the Streets.”

The rock band O.A.R. (an acronym for “Of a Revolution”) is renowned for its vibrant live performances, highlighted by energetic jam sessions that entertain and ignite loyal fans. After their 2012 hit, “Shattered (Turn the Car Around),” they released their eighth album, “The Rockville LP,” in 2014.
