Danbury Hosts World Of Colors Event

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury's first World of Colors concert, hosted by the World Heritage Cultural Center was held in CityCenter on June 20.

The 10 year old organization, which has produced similar concerts nationwide, has chosen Danbury as its new home because of the city's diversity.

Hosted by radio personality Cindy Vero, as well as actor/filmmakers Shetal Shah and Victor Cruz, the World of Colors delivered a well rounded array of entertainment and food vendors that started at at 10:30 a.m. and continued throughout the day until 8:00 p.m., despite the rain.

Countries represented on the World of Colors stage were: Puerto Rico, Ecuador, the Philippines, Russia, and the Ukraine; Gypsy, Cossack, and Jewish traditions; and the continents of Asia and South America.

During the event, World of Colors Global Appreciation Awards were given to honor and appreciate those individuals, partnerships, or organizations that are doing good, not only in the U.S. but throughout the World.

World of Colors is a free annual event to the public in Danbury, and everyone is encouraged to come dressed in their native costume.
