Poor Adam will be performing at Opus 465 at 465 Main St. in Armonk with catchy pop songs from the 1970s until today.

"We play fun, danceable rock-n-roll music that people enjoy," said Drummer Paul MacDonald, a Greenwich resident. "Anybody who shows up will be satisfied. People of all ages enjoy the show."

The band has been together for about a year in its current configuration, all members having played in other bands over the years. Sal Palladino, the bassist, is from Brewster, while guitarist John Taylor and vocalist Paul Laquesse are from Danbury.

"We all have the same vision," MacDonald said. "We're all accomplished musicians and what clicked is that we have a common goal."

Poor Adam is about playing songs they know the audience wants to hear, not just about playing songs the band itself might want to play.

"Our show is 100 percent aimed at the audience," MacDonald said. "We want to keep them dancing and make them happy. That's what's refreshing."

In their day jobs, members of the band work as computer programmers or math teachers.

"Our careers might be humdrum, but when we play and get a happy audience that sings along, it's like a drug," MacDonald said. "There's no other way about it."

MacDonald said the band plays purely for the love of music and the high they get from the crowd.

"There's no reason for grown men to be doing this, staying up late, and moving equipment around," he said. "It's all for giggles."
