GREENWICH, Conn. -- Come to the Banksville Community House in Greenwich for a Sunday, June 5 community celebration and bench dedication ceremony for Dorrie Watson.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m., with the bench dedication at 5 p.m., followed by a pot luck supper.

Watson, who died Dec. 30, 2014 at age 91, was a lifelong Banksville resident. Her and her husband, Bill, owned Finch's Country Store in Banksville. She helped form the North Castle Historical Society in 1971 and served as its president and on the board of directors. She also was an honorary member of the Banksville Fire Company, whom she helped raise money for and secure the land for the fire house's expansion.

The Banksville Community House is at 12 Banksville Road, Greenwich.
