Come with the entire family and learn to look at art. This show, primarily made up of Dutch and Flemish 17th-century Old Master paintings from a Golden Age, is one of the largest and most varied collections of Northern Baroque art assembled anywhere in recent years, and probably the largest show ever at the Bruce.
Learning to Look is a program designed especially for families and children to foster appreciation and understanding of art and based on the Learning to Look curriculum developed by Diane W. Darst and Sue Ann Massey Williamson.
Lessons are presented by a Learning to Look instructor at 1:15 p.m. and repeated at 2:15 p.m. This Sunday, painting activities will be available in the Education Workshop.
The activities are appropriate for all ages.
All activities are free with museum admission, fully accessible, and suitable for people of all abilities and ages.
This event will be held in the Bantle Lecture Gallery.
The exhibition "(Re)Discovering the 'New World:' Maps & Sea Charts from the Age of Exploration" will not be available for general viewing from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The Bruce Museum is located at 1 Museum Drive in Greenwich. It is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Admission for adults is $7, students and seniors $6, and free to museum members and children under 5.
