Caramoor Presents Performance With Sybarite5 For Its Introductions Series

KATONAH, N.Y. – Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts will be hosting a performance with SYBARITE5, as part of its Introductions series which seeks to bring attention to up and coming artists, on Thursday, July 3 at 6 p.m.

Caramoor Center For Music and the Arts is located at 149 Girdle Ridge Road, Katonah.

Prior to the performance in the Spanish Courtyard, there will be a Festival Thursday Afternoon Tea and tours of the Rosen House and In the Garden of Sonic Delights starting at 2 p.m.

Guests can then stay for the concert in the Spanish Courtyard with SYBARITE5 taking advantage of all Caramoor has to offer; a wide array of fine and decorative arts, picturesque surroundings, groundbreaking sound-art and world class music.

SYBARITE5 is a string quintet composed of Sami Merdinian, violinist, Sarah Whitney, violinist, Angela Pickett, violist, Laura Metcalf, cellist and Louis Levitt, bassist. The group is the first string quintet ever to win the Concert Artists Guild International Competition, in 2011. Known for their innovative repertoire stretching from Mozart, Piazzolla, contemporary composers Mohammed Fairouz and Dan Visconti, to arrangements of Radiohead, the quintet took home the Sylvia Ann Hewlett Adventurous Artist Prize at the 2011 CAG Competition.
