GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Bruce Museum in Greenwich is offering some upcoming special events for arts lovers of all ages.
A program for youngsters ages 3 to 5 years old called Printmaking With Old Masters will be offered from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 10.
The kids and their adult caregivers will be able explore the museum's galleries through hands-on experiences, crafts, stories and more. After a walk through the exhibition "Dürer, Rembrandt and Whistler: Prints from the Collection of Dr. Dorrance T. Kelly," children will create their own relief prints.

For more mature art lovers, a free lecture by Peter C. Sutton on "Appearance and Reality in Dutch Art" will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10.
The lecture will be the first in a series of two on "Dürer, Rembrandt and Whistler: Prints from the Collection of Dr. Dorrance T. Kelly."
Sutton, executive director of the Bruce Museum, will address the popular assumption that Dutch art is a literal record of reality. With selected comparisons, he will demonstrate that this form of naturalism is equal parts observation and invention, reportage and confection.

For kids who love art, a summer painting workshop called Palettes, Brushes and Paint! will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon daily from July 15 through July 19.
The program is designed for students ages 10 to 14, who have completed at least fourth grade. In this workshop, students will study the basics of painting and create their own works of art. Themes of landscape, portraiture and mural painting will be explored.
