Block Party Coming To Greenwich Avenue

GREENWICH, Conn.- The 4th annual Greenwich block party will be from 3-9 p.m. Aug. 5 on lower Greenwich Avenue and Fawcett Place.

The party, sponsored by the Greenwich Police Silver Shield Association in partnership with the First Bank of Greenwich, will feature live music as lower Greenwich Avenue is transformed into a vehicle-free pedestrian walkway, according to a press release. All local restaurants and businesses will be open.

New this year is the "kid's corner," running the entire length of Fawcett Place. Entertainment will include magicians, face painting, pony rides and a three-story water slide.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Town of Greenwich Parks and Recreation Camp Scholarship Fund. A donation of $10 is asked from all adult attendees.
