GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation Summer Concert Series continues Wednesday evening with a performance by veteran R&B band Billy and the Showmen in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park at 7:15 p.m.

Billy & the Showmen specialize in hard-driving R&B, soul, and funk from the 60's and 70's. The band's repertoire includes the best of Blood, Sweat, & Tears, Tower of Power, Cool & the Gang, and classic Motown artists such as the Temptations.

Established more than thirty years ago, Billy and the Showmen have earned a reputation as one of Connecticut's best and most enduring Rhythm & Blues bands. Its members have played with such artists as Billy Vera, the Chiffons, Bo Diddley, and Jackie Wilson in venues as diverse as Madison Square Garden, the Village Vanguard, the Village Gate, and the Bottom Line.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner to the park.

In the event of rain, the concert will be re-scheduled to Thursday.
