Billy and the Showmen Play Wednesday in Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation will present Billy and the Showmen at the Wednesday Night Concert Series this week.

The Greenwich Police Silver Shield will sponsor the 7:15 p.m. concert at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park. If it rains, the concert will be held Thursday.

Billy and the Showmen are a 10-piece R&B band based in Greenwich. They have performed for more than 40 years throughout the Northeast and New York City. During the 1970s and '80s they had double-duty as the back up band for The Chiffons and most recently became the band behind Billy Vera during his East Coast performance at Live at Five in Stamford.
