Angler To Talk Big Game Fish At Greenwich's Bruce Museum

GREENWICH, Conn. - Angling historian Mike Rivkin will give a talk on the evolution of big-game fishing Sunday at Greenwich's Bruce Museum.

Rivkin's talk, "Blue Water, Big Fish: A History of Big-Game Fishing,” is one of two being held in conjunction with the museum's current exhibition, "The Lure of the Ocean: The Art of Stanley Meltzoff." It is free and takes place at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the museum, located at One Museum Drive in Greenwich

Rivkin, an author who is also president of the Tuna Club Foundation, will discuss the people, places and fish who have defined big-game fishing since its early days in the waters off California's Santa Catalina Island in the late 1890s, according to a Bruce Museum press release.

Rivkin is an accomplished fisherman who says he has caught every species of marlin. He spends most of his time in southern California.
