The Fund for Women and Girls is on a mission to empower girls and women in Fairfield County and help them reach their full potential. When you help a woman, you help her children, extended family, community and society. The annual luncheon is a celebration of making a difference for women and girls throughout Fairfield County.

This annual event attracts more than 800 friends and supporters from Connecticut, New York and beyond.

They celebrate making an important difference for thousands of women and girls throughout Fairfield County, learn about the fund’s work, and hear from women who have benefited from their support.

Previous keynote speakers include Dr. Maya Angelou, Dr. Madeline Albright, Soledad O’Brien, Barbara Ehrenreich, Gail Collins, and Gloria Steinem.

The luncheon is The Fund for Women and Girls’ single fundraising event. The Fund is part of Fairfield County's Community Foundation, which is made up of a collection of charitable funds established by individuals, families and businesses. Fund assets are pooled and invested and safeguarded to generate an ongoing, steady resource for community giving across all of Fairfield County.

Davis has played a women’s baseball league catcher, the first female president of the United States, and a fetal surgeon. She is also the founder of the nonprofit Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. The Institute is the only research-based organization working within the media and entertainment industry to engage, educate, and influence the need to dramatically improve gender balance, reduce stereotyping and create diverse female characters in entertainment targeting children age 11 and younger.
