Girardi, who has owned a home in Greenwich, turns 50 on Tuesday. The manager of the New York Yankees was born Oct. 14, 1964, in Peoria, Ill.
The Yankees manager was a catcher for the Yankees, Cubs, Rockies and Cardinals from 1989 to 2003. He was the manager of the Florida Marlins and named the National League Manager of the Year in 2006.
As manager, he led the Yankees to their 40th AL pennant and their 27th World Series title in 2009.
Girardi has earned his 600th career win as a manager and on Oct. 10, 2013, signed a four-year deal worth $16,000,000 to remain as manager of the New York Yankees.
