In less than a year Wendy Brown has started a mini empire of Pink Soda Blow Dry Bars. Her latest opened Friday, Aug. 19 at 10 Roberts Lane in Ridgefield. This follows Newtown, in April 2015 and Fairfield, in December 2015.

Next up, she said, is Stamford. "Those will be my four babies," she said. "After that, I have plans to franchise."

For now, though, she tries hard to be at every location and get to know her customers. "I feel like I never sleep," said the Newtown resident. "But I love it. I can't tell you how warm and welcoming each community has been. In Ridgefield, especially, women have opened up their arms to me and have been incredibly supportive. I'm really overwhelmed with the way they take in a woman entrepreneur."

What makes her blow dry bars so -- pardon the pun -- hot?

Brown said it's the fact that they try to make each customer's visit "an experience." Catering to each client -- whether it's for an upstyle, makeup or hair treatment -- is key to Pink Soda's growing success.

Parties are a big part of the business with bridal groups being instrumental in the company's growth. "We're almost completely booked with bridal parties for the rest of the year," said Brown. Though Pink Soda does on site weddings, she said most groups come in the day before for rehearsal dinners.

As for what's popular among her clientele at the moment, many folks continue to ask for the boho (bohemian) look, along with elaborate braids.
