Marine Corps Veteran From Cos Cob Honored With 'Milli' Entrepreneur Award

BEDFORD, N.Y. — In the inaugural year of the Westfair Communications "Milli" award, Cos Cob resident Tom "Sarge" Barzelatto has taken home the prize.

Barzelatto is an account executive at Bedford's Atlantic Westchester Inc.

The award honors exceptional millennials, ages 21 to 34, living or working in Fairfield or Westchester counties who are changing the world in the following categories: 

  • community 
  • "millipreneur" (entrepreneur)
  • nonprofit
  • innovation 
  • creative 
  • technology 
  • medical
  • green 

Barzelatto has been instrumental in leading the company’s energy efficiency efforts and solutions, according to Westfair. With the help of Barzelatto, Atlantic Westchester has successfully marketed and increased energy initiatives to current and prospective clients across the New York metropolitan area.

“In addition to energy efforts, Sarge has made an impact in the areas of marketing and sales at Atlantic Westchester. Sarge has been a valuable contributor to our company growth and client retention rate in the past year,” said Bud Hammer, president of Atlantic Westchester. “He is establishing an excellent reputation as an industry professional, we are thrilled to have him as a part of our team.” 

Before joining Atlantic Westchester, Barzelatto was in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years and achieved the rank of E-5 sergeant. Barzelatto joined Atlantic Westchester, a commercial and industrial HVAC business, in July 2014.
