Look What's Opening In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – From places to shop to places to eat, new businesses continue to flock to Westport.

A unique coffee shop called Coffee + Pi is slated to open at 599 Riverside Ave., in the space next to Tutti’s restaurant, in the Saugatuck section of town. Plans are still being developed, but the concept is for a coffee shop that offers tutoring, Realtor Peter Lane said. Lane did not know when the shop might open. The Sloat family, which owns the building, could not be reached for comment.

A new Italian restaurant and gourmet pizzeria will open downtown at 143 Post Road E., where Joe’s Pizza used to be. Joe’s Pizza is now located at 190 Main St.

Also downtown, shoppers will see three new retailers over the next several months. Jonathan Adler, a pottery, home décor and gift store, is opening at 166 Main St., the space formerly occupied by Achorns Pharmacy, which moved to Playhouse Square this summer. Jonathan Adler is aiming to open in October. It will be the second Connecticut location.

Two shops will open in the 4,600-square-foot commercial building under construction at 100 Post Road E., said David Waldman, founder of David Adam Realty.

Steven Alan, a New York City-based clothing store that sells men's and women’s fashions, and Paper Source, a stationery store, have signed leases for that location. Both stores, which aim to open next spring, will be the first of their kind in the state.
