GREENWICH, Conn. – The Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich has been family owned and operated for 67 years. Owner Elaine DiAngelo says no change is imminent, despite her daughter’s departure from daily operations when she moved last month.

“Amy was the person that everyone looked to,’’ Elaine DiAngelo said. “But our apprentice is still here, I’m still here and we’re still here. I don’t know what the future holds.”

Amy DiAngelo Herbster, Elaine’s daughter, moved in June for her husband’s job. Amy worked alongside her father, Charles, until he died in 2004. She directed operations with her mother for a few years and took over daily operations about three years ago.

“She is still a consultant,’’ Elaine said. “We do a lot of talking to her. She is providing her input on each and every call that comes in. She knows what’s going on.”

Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, offers a full range of services. DiAngelo says the business will continue to provide the same level of service Charles established during his 56 years as the owner and that was perpetuated by his family the past nine years.

“Things are forever changing,’’ DiAngelo said. “That’s the name of the game. But as far as what’s going on, I’m still here. The transition has been pretty smooth since Amy moved.”
