For the third year in a row, hundreds of nominations were submitted to Westchester Magazine publication, 914INC. Magazine, with intentions to highlight the achievements of small businesses all across Westchester. The only requirements were that the business was in operation for at least two years, had fewer than 50 full-time employees and maintained a physical location in Westchester.
Fourteen honorees were selected to receive awards in four categories: General Excellence, Outstanding Minority-Owned Small Business, Outstanding Nonprofit and Outstanding Philanthropic Small Business.
George P. Williams, president and CEO of A.G. Williams Painting, accepted the award. A.G. Williams has experienced consistent growth since the 1990s, having grown to a $5 million company. Earlier this year, A.G. Williams also won a Family Business Award from Westfair Communications.
"I'm thankful to 914INC. for bestowing this honor upon our company," Williams said. "It's been a privilege to run this business for the past 30 years. We have a great team and some of the best field workers in the country, and this award is really for them.”
Since celebrating its 100th anniversary, A.G. Williams has raised and contributed more than $150,000 to local charities and has continued to be heavily involved in the community, working with charities and groups like Habitat for Humanity, local PBAs and firefighters, The Community Center of Northern Westchester and Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless.
A.G. Williams is at 411 Pelham Ave., Pelham, with offices at 500 W. Putnam Ave, Suite 400, Greenwich.
