GREENWICH, Conn. – The judges have voted and seven Greenwich restaurants have been named among the best in the state, according to Connecticut Magazine's annual poll.
The magazine sent 89 dining experts to compile a list of the best restaurants in Connecticut. The voters then picked the top five restaurants and several honorable mentions in 25 different categories.
Thomas Henkelmann, part of the Homestead Inn, was one of the most-honored restaurants by the magazine, racking up top picks in four categories and honorable mentions in two others.
The Mobil-rated four-star restaurant was listed in the "Best Overall," "Best French," "Most Romantic" and "Best Service" categories. It also received honorable mentions in "Best Desserts" and "Best for Hotel Dining."
Rebecca's also was listed in the "Best Overall" category, as well as in the "Best American" category.
Eleven14 Kitchen, located in the J House Hotel, was the other Greenwich restaurant to make it into the top ranks of multiple categories. It was recognized as one of the "Best New" restaurants and, like Thomas Henkelmann, among the "Best for Hotel Dining."
L'Escale was honored in the "Best Outdoor Dining" category and received an honorable mention in "Best for Hotel Dining."
Bistro Latino received honorable mentions in both the "Best Mexican/Latin" and "Best Appetizers" categories.
