With the selection, the facility joins Stamford Hospital as one of only two hospitals in the state selected for the designation in 2016.
“This award pays tribute to our ongoing commitment to create an extraordinary patient experience for all patients and their families by providing exceptional care and service every day,” said Norman G. Roth, Greenwich Hospital’s president. “All of our employees – throughout every corner of the organization – are dedicated to proving our patients and visitors with the best possible patient experience.”
The award is the only one that identifies the nation’s best healthcare institutions based on Medicare data weighted according to the preferences of women.
For 2016, the most important considerations for women included a patient’s willingness to recommend the healthcare organization, doctor and nurse communications, staff help, pain management, cleanliness and an explanation of medications.
In addition to the honor for patient experience, Greenwich Hospital received awards in obstetrics, cancer care, patient safety and stroke care.
