While prices this weekend may be a pain in the wallet, a AAA representative forecasts that the annual spike around the holiday weekend may give way to some of the cheapest prices in years.
The average price of gas in Connecticut is currently $3.77 a gallon, compared with $3.70 a month ago.
The state average is much closer to the national average than usual, with gas prices averaging $3.68, a nine-cent difference. Connecticut prices had been about 20 cents higher than the national average for several months.
