Fairfield County Group Offers Prize To Company With Social Progress Plan

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Fairfield County-based Social Venture Partners Connecticut wants to reward people who are changing world for the better, and is offering an incentive to do so.

SVP Connecticut is offering $500 in a competition to “all that are accomplishing social good,” according to its promotional flier. The competition will be held on Friday, Oct. 21, at 4 p.m. at the Westport Innovation Hub, 20 Ketchum St., in Westport.

Non-profit and for-profit companies can enter. Companies will have five minutes in the “pitch fest” to tell SVP its plan and how an investment of $500 will benefit a segment of society.

SVP Connecticut is a venture philanthropy organization. Its partners pool their time and resources to provide financial operating and technical support, executive coaching, and professional consultation to investees.

SVP’s partners also engage with staff and board members to help achieve shared goals, increase business effectiveness, and improve the impact of services delivered.
