The boutique barbershop offers an intimate setting at 3 Lewis St.,  a location that is in easy walking distance from downtown and nearby parking areas.

The shop's owner is Christopher Noland, who also owns Christopher Noland Salon and Beauty Spa on Greenwich Avenue. Noland said it's the kind of place where men can take a temporary break from their busy lives.

“We wanted to create a space where men could enjoy a brief respite from the everyday world and leave feeling recharged—getting their hair cut and beard trimmed in the process."

Two steel and leather barber chairs anchor the room whose stone floor, wood cabinets and large plate glass windows lend a masculine mood. The rock albums that decorate the walls serve two purposes, said Noland.

“We wanted them for decoration but just ask and we’ll play your favorite. It’s an easy-going atmosphere."

After 4 p.m., customers can have a Noland Signature cocktail, water or espresso. Services include haircuts, neck trims, and hot lather shaves. One called Color Camo treats salt and pepper hair to diminish grays.

“It’s coloring that grows out gracefully and can be reapplied at the next haircut,” Noland explains. “It’s the perfect solution to keep a hint of gray hair to acknowledge your wisdom while camouflaging the rest to reinforce your youth.”

Shaves at his new barbershop are "the men's version of a relaxing and stimulating facial, with the benefit of getting shaved in the process," said Noland.

"It’s a total sensory experience, the ultimate in being pampered," he added.

The shop is open for appointments and walk-ins. Call (203) 302-3408 for information.
