GREENWICH, Conn. -- Christopher Fischer, which has been selling cashmere clothing and luxury accessories on Greenwich Avenue for a decade, will close its Greenwich store at the end of April, according to the Connecticut Post.
The store may look for a new location, said founder Christopher Fischer, perhaps in Greenwich or elsewhere.
The size and cost of the Greenwich location became "prohibitive" and unsuited to his brand, Fischer was quoted as saying. Its locations in New York City and the Hamptons will remain open.
The rent was $110 per square foot for 3,600 square feet for the Greenwich Avenue store, said Tom Torelli, managing partner of Allied Property Group, owner of 103 Greenwich Ave. A 10-year lease is typical on the Avenue, he said. The space could be divided for new tenants, Torelli said.
