After 26 years, T&J's moved its tiny, popular eatery from Westchester Avenue to expanded facilities at the former Town of Rye Courthouse at 10 Pearl St. There, it can seat more than 100 people indoors, 60 people on an outdoor patio and cater to more than 100 guests in an upstairs banquet hall.

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino made a special appearance since one of the owners is a neighbor from Hawthorne. Still recovering from Election Night, the Republican apologized for his sore throat. "I'm a little hoarse,'' he said.

After reading a proclamation declaring it T&J's Day in Westchester County, as broadcast at the marquee outside the County Center on Thursday in White Plains, Astorino said, "This would be the perfect place for Trump, Clinton and Obama to break bread."

Astorino called it surreal to see someone he's played golf with become president of the United States, and pull off the upset on an historically modest campaign budget.
